"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2
Fix your eyes on Jesus! The author has taken all 11 chapters to explain how worthy Jesus is. Now, we see Him suffer with us as the example of how we are to behave in the midst of our trial. WE are to endure as He did. We are to forsake bitterness because of the trial for it will only defile those around us. We are to pursue peace between us and God. We are to remember that He is using this situation as a discipline for us to produce fruit in our life and to remember His direction on how to live without excuse as He shakes out those things in our life that should not be there. He will use whatever means necessary for us to live pure and holy lives.
