Luke 22...Your sword

“But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one." Luke 22:36

Paul explains that our sword is the Word of God.  Jesus is explaining a new era of ministry for the disciples of which we live in today.  No longer would He be there to guide and direct them, as it is today, He tells them to get a sword.  Thinking in the physical, they find two swords and Jesus says, “it is enough”.  In other words, you don’t get it.  The sword is the Scriptures that must be fulfilled in My life and in your own.  We need to pick up our swords if we are going to fight this battle of faith.  We are enlisted soldiers and need daily instructions to develop our strategy in order to defeat the enemy and walk in victory.  Though Jesus is not physically with us, He has given us His Word to live by in this present age.
