Luke 23...Not a show

Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him nothing. Luke 23:9

You would think that Jesus would seek Herod’s audience since He was the King of the Jews.  Yet, though Herod was in Galilee where Jesus ministered, He never sought the audience of this pompous puppet king of Rome.  Jesus would model for us what it means to associate with the humble and display the importance of not casting your pearls before swine.  All Herod wanted was a magic show.  There was no intent of conversion.  Herod’s heart was purely to be entertained and Jesus would have no part of such festivities that mocked the very throne of heaven.  I pray our hearts purpose to walk in the same humility and choose to discern where we expend our energy for the advancing of God’s Kingdom.
