As we reflect on the last two months, all we can say is, “Wow look what the Lord has done!” The students of Patmos 15 have experienced adventure, challenge, and most importantly sincere intimacy with our Lord. As a staff we have already witnessed radical transformations occur in the students of Patmos 15, and we know that this level of growth only comes by being dependent on the word of God and the Spirit of God. We have seen specific students go from being led by their own hearts to being led by God’s heart, bound by their own understanding to freed by the wisdom of the Spirit, apathetic followers to diligent leaders, and the list goes on.
The influence of the Word has been so apparent
I had a conversation with several students this past week who were so excited to see the results of diligent study of the word combined with purposed memorization of scripture. They shared their experiences of how the word has just been flowing out of their mouths during Evangelism and Outreach experiences. They said that as they were listening to the people they encountered God was giving them exact scripture to share with these people, and these people were in awe of how it connected so personally to what they were walking through. The students are experiencing what it means to be “transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2), and how that has not only impacted them but the very people that they come in contact with. The influence of the Word has been so apparent that we have had the privilege to see many people come to Christ in these past two months.
A student just came up to me the other day and shared with me how blown away he has been with the encounters he’s had with the Lord in his “secret place.” He communicated that he has been purposing to take advantage of time slots in the day to just go pray with the Lord by himself, and how this practice has continued to change his perspective throughout the day. The Lord has already begun to transform this young man from an emotionally led believer to a Spirit led disciple. I believe that these are the types of students who are literally going to turn the world upside down for Jesus and have a tremendous impact for the kingdom wherever God leads them.
Please cover the staff and students of Patmos 15 with your prayers. We know that without God and the body of Christ we are nothing and have nothing to offer. Please intercede on our behalf that the Lord would give us the spirit of wisdom, revelation, and that He would enlighten the eyes of our understanding (Ephesians 1:17-18) that we would be able to say with confidence...
“For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2).
