Anchored Hope

What have you learned this week about how God is an anchor for your soul?

Andres T. – This week the Lord taught me that He is my sustainer and the One who holds me down securely in the midst of storms. He equips and provides us with an unfailing anchor through our hope in Him that is steadfast and never fails. One of the most important tools He offers us is His word which sustains us and walks us through any situation we may face. We can also rely on the Holy Spirit to carry us, teach us, and guide us.

Charlene D. – I am expectant of Jesus’s coming; it is a sure and steadfast hope, just as He is a sure and steadfast anchor. This hope I have in Christ fastens me to Him, and He will secure me in storms. Though not only through the storms of my life, because if I put my hope and dependency on Jesus He will keep me from drifting even in still waters. I’ve learnt to secure my anchor before the storm. God is the anchor of my soul and I will always be aware of where my anchor is, secured in Him.

Jared R. – The Lord is truly my anchor who is always true and steadfast. Leaning into the person of Jesus has never let me drift away from walking with Him into walking in the flesh, and He will never let me do so when I choose to be anchored in Him. I have learned the sweet fruits of relying on God with everything I face, and He will always supply me with my every need.

Leigh Anne Z.

Marissa H. – God is the anchor of my soul in times when I think I can’t do it. He takes me 10 steps more. I can depend on Him to comfort me when I’m sad, when I miss my family, when I miss home, God is right there keeping me grounded and focused on the main goal. Fighting on for the kingdom. I am sure that I can run, with endurance, to Him and I am confident that He will sustain me. God is the anchor that keeps me grounded in the calm and the storm.

Neil C. – Relying on my own strength might yield results, but relying on the sufficient grace of God is infinitely more fruitful. Misplaced hope is just another snare that you set for yourself. I no longer doubt my foundation and portion that is Christ in me. So now I purpose to be anchored by the Word of God so that in the storms of life, my position is sure and steadfast.

Sophia P. – This week I learned what it means to have my hope in Jesus, anchored and unmovable. My hope is in Jesus, I should be able to stand firm in His truth because His truths and knowing them in my heart is what keeps me anchored. If I only know them in my head they will do no good when I am walking in something where I need to be ministered to or minister to others. I want to know His truths in my heart so that I am able to have that closness with Him and share it with others.

Zachary G. – In order for my hope to be in Christ as my anchor that holds fast in storms, I have to trust Him. Even if I have Him but I try to go without using that solidity, I will still be tossed about. When I am anchored, then I can seek Him for satisfaction instead of the things I think I need. If I have my hope solidified in Him then I won’t need to be so focused on results or wanting to know His long-term plan because He might not reveal either. Instead I can take time to love on people and do ministry trusting Him to reveal just the next step so I keep trusting Him as I walk in obedience.
